Cyber Monday

I think I actually did pretty good this year, despite my love for online shopping, and my new-found CD addiction…hahaha

I started with Kelly’s Closet, my FAVORITE Cloth Diaper shop.  I ended up purchasing the bumGenius 4.0 One-Size Diapers – BUY 5, GET 1 FREE, which is a deal they’ve had going for a while now and I’ve been meaning to get them.  I got 3 with snaps, and 3 with velcro…and *gasp* I got some GIRL colors: Bubble (lavender) and Blossom (pink).  I’ve been trying to buy as gender neutral as possible, so far…but 1) I’m tired of green, yellow, and white diapers, 2) if I have a girl, I’d like to have at least one girly pink or purple diaper, and 3) I have no problem with putting a boy in pink.  Especially if it’s a diaper that will probably be covered anyway.

Then, the ladies on BBC were talking about the 36 Indian Prefolds (seconds) for $36 at Cotton Babies, so I had to check that out.  I’ve been toying with the idea of using prefolds and covers for a newborn (and I may change my mind about that), but I haven’t found them cheaper than that anywhere else, so I ordered those too.  I already have one Thristies Duo Wrap, so I need to get maybe 4 or 5 more covers (maybe one Bummi’s Super Brite – I LOVE the Blueberry Polka Dot!)  and some Snappis, then I should be all set for an itty-bitty baby.  With the weather getting cooler, I’m seeing lots of info about wool and fleece covers, but those are all sized and without knowing how big of a baby I’ll have when I need them, I’m not buying anything like that, so far…

I am thinking about getting some flips for traveling so I have the option of disposable on long trips, or trips I dont feel comfortable asking friends/extended family for wash privledges. Looking into newborn options. I am fairly adament against prefolds. Its a preference thing.

I think that’s a great idea about getting some Flips for travel. I’m doing the same thing. I understand prefolds aren’t for everyone. My thought is, though, that I’m going to be home for 12 weeks with a newborn anyway (and not getting paid), so I’m going to save as much money as I can. This seems like a good way to do that. DH wouldn’t mind using disposables until baby grows into the one-size, but something tells me that i’ll be changing most of the diapers anyway, so it’s my call. lol

Yeah, with the very pobrobable cross country move up ahead I see a lot of laundry and diaper changing in my future. I am taking 3 months off. Half unpaid. Then very shortly after would be the move where I will be back working and the hubs wrking too. He has longer hours though . If I can swing it, I want to be a WAHM. SAHM is absolutely not possible for now – future goal .
