Baby Boy is still the size of a honeydew!
35 weeks (and some days)…less than 35 days to go!!!!
So in about a month, I will have a newborn. I’m not really sure WHY that realization just hit me, but it did. Am I excited? Hell yeah! Nervous? Not really…though I might be after I find out what L&D is REALLY like at our childbirth class tomorrow!!
I feel ready, though. As ready as I’m going to be anyway. The nursery is pretty much done (still have some decorating to do, but that’s not imperative to it being functional). Baby will sleep in our room for a while anyway. Clothes, blankets, and cloth diapers are washed. The hospital bag is beginning to be packed. The car seat is waiting to be installed (probably on the agenda for next weekend?) I’m sure I’m missing something…
I got confirmation from my doctor’s office today that I can continue taking my current asthma medication while I breastfeed. (This is the doctor that prescribed the meds, not my OB.) So, that’s a huge weight off my shoulders. I also looked it up on LactMed (which is a great resource for nursing mothers!), and it says: “The amounts of inhaled budesonide excreted into breastmilk are minute and infant exposure is negligible. Reviewers and an expert panel consider inhaled corticosteroids acceptable to use during breastfeeding.” Of course, I will be sure to let DS’s pediatrician know what meds I am taking, in case she has any concern about it.
