Pinterest Project: Daily Routine Chart

A few weeks ago, I posted our new daily routine chart on Instagram.

This was one Pinterest project I told myself HAD to be done ASAP when we moved, because Little Man was used to a routine at daycare, and I needed to make sure that we didn’t just sleep until noon and watch TV all day now that I stay home with him. (Though, for the first couple of weeks, that was happening more than I care to admit…)

So far it’s working out…ok. I’m not really sure what I had planned on happening. He’s not even three, so he obviously can’t read it (though my awesome art skillz are a nice touch, no?) If anything, it keeps ME more on track than him. But he still falls asleep any time we’re in the car (even if it’s not naptime), and outside play is always cut short because after five minutes he’s complaining about how hot it is. (Like mother, like son!)

Next week, the neighborhood pool will finally be open on weekdays and the library starts toddler story time again, so that will give us some variety in our daily activities. But, I do need to find some more things to keep him busy at home, because he gets bored easily. If you need me, I’ll be browsing Pinterest. 😉

Do you and your toddlers/preschoolers have a daily routine? Feel free to share your typical day, and throw out any ideas for keeping kids entertained all day in the comments!
