The first day of 2021…finally! I know I didn’t post much here or on social media in 2020, so here’s a quick recap to get you up to speed. (If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll recognize most of these…)
Prior to the start of the dumpster fire we called 2020, I bought a Peloton bike. I had no idea how much it would save my sanity this year. I’ve done 150 rides, and over 500 workouts (yoga, strength training, etc). Best decision ever! (They’re not paying me to say that, I promise!)
My older son finished his second grade year with his classmates online.
We did our best to make it a fun summer, despite most of the playgrounds, pools, and splash pads being closed.
The kids were begging for a pet (more accurately, they wanted a pet otter). But, we couldn’t make that happen, so they settled for a pair of hamsters.
My older son turned nine, and started 3rd grade virtually through our school district.
He was struggling, so in October, I pulled him out to homeschool. Overall, it’s going pretty well. Homeschooling is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m glad we’ve had the opportunity to this year.
My youngest son turned FIVE last month, and we celebrated the holidays with my in-laws and my parents (separate visits, in our open garage, socially distanced). It was different, but I think it worked out pretty well! (We’re fortunate to have decent weather here, even in December.)
Despite the state of the world, we found the good in 2020, but I’m not sad to see it go. Happy New Year!
