December Baby – 9 Months

Sweet boy –

You’ve become a lot more confident in your mobility this month. You prefer standing to sitting now, but you still have to hold on to something for balance (at least with one hand). You can also lower yourself from standing to sitting without falling down!

You’ve also found your voice. You do lots of jabbering, can say “baba” and something that sounds like “yes”, but not “mama”or “dada” yet.

You still don’t have any teeth, but I keep thinking that one’s going to pop through any day now.

I love you!

Five Years Old!

Little man –

Five years old. I can’t believe it.

Last year’s interest in superheroes was fleeting. We are now knee-deep into the worlds of Pokémon and Minecraft. That’s what the big kids like, after all.

You are a great artist and storyteller. (You obviously get this skill from your father.) You’ve excelled at swim lessons this summer. In May, you didn’t even want to put your face underwater. Now, you love to wear your goggles to practice swimming in the bathtub…lol

You have one more year of Pre-K starting this week. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store!

Love you lots and lots!

~ Mommy

December Baby – 8 Months

Baby boy –

Lots of motor skill development this month!  Sitting confidently?  Yep!  Crawling?  Been there, done that. Pulling yourself up to standing?  Yeah, you do that now, too…

And when you are standing, you are bouncing. Especially in your crib. Standing still is apparently not an option. Haha

You babble a lot, but still nothing that sounds like words (at least to me).  Definitely not “mama” or “dada”.  Maybe someone here can translate “gukkk”?

You are so much fun, little guy. I love watching you grow up!

Lots of love, hugs, and kisses!

December Baby – 7 months

Sweet boy –

Happy 7 months! Time is just flying by!

You’re getting better at sitting, though you’re still a little unsteady. You JUST started crawling. Like yesterday. Seriously.

You love to eat, though we haven’t tried a lot of new foods yet. So far, you’ll eat bananas, sweet potatoes, green beans, and squash.

You’re not much of a talker on your own. If I make a sound, you’ll usually say it back. You still love to squeal, though!  I think we’re going to start working on signing now, too.

I can’t wait to see what the next month has in store. I love you so much, baby boy!!

December Baby – 6 months

Sweet boy –

I can’t believe how fast 6 months have gone by.  You are learning new skills everyday.  You can now sit unassisted for a short amount of time, and you’re ridiculously close to crawling.   You imitate sounds and faces, but you’re not making any word-like sounds yet (like “ba ba” or “da da”).  You just squeal in delight more than anything.  hahaha  You’ve been sleeping better lately, and are falling into more of a routine.  (Which is awesome!)

It’s so fun watching you grow up.  I love you so much!

December Baby – 5 months

Sweet boy –

You are growing up so fast! Lately, you are very determined to move. (I assume you are trying to keep up with your big brother!) Rocking on your hands and knees, scooting backwards across the floor. You’ll be crawling in no time!

The jumperoo is your favorite toy overall, but you’ve started grasping smaller toys and putting them in your mouth. Pacifiers are a thing of the past. You’d much rather chew on your hands. You also just recently discovered your feet, though you’re not terribly interested in them just yet.

You smile any time you hear your dad’s voice, and big brother always makes you laugh. Such a happy little guy! I’m so excited to see what the next month brings!

I love you!

We celebrated your first Easter, which included your first road trip! You did great, as I expected. 🙂

You’ve mastered the back to tummy roll, but are still working on going from your tummy to your back. I’ve seen you do it once or twice, so we’ll keep practicing.

You are laughing and “talking” more now, which is so much fun! I can’t wait to see what the next month brings.

Now that you’re no longer a newborn, you’re ready to explore your world! You’ve found your hands, and they are always in your mouth. We change your clothes a lot, because you’re drooling everywhere all of the sudden. (It’s too early for teething, right?) You’re doing much more cooing and smiling these days, which is so much fun!
