Dear sweet boy –
Today (ok, well I was supposed to post this on the 24th…my bad) you are 19 months old! I refuse to believe it!
Over the past month, you’ve said lots of new words, PHRASES (What?! That’s like…a mini-sentence!!), and had a memorable milestone or two. Growing up so SO fast…
You had your first haircut right after your 18 “month-day”. As cute as it was, the mullet you were rockin’ was starting to confuse people. “What a cute little girl!” Awkward…
Of course, to cover up your new ‘do, you picked out a “at” (hat), and wear it all the time – except when you’re trying to put it on me, or the dog…
We went to your first concert (YOOOO GABBA GABBA!) over spring break with Gigi and Aunt S. You weren’t too sure about what was going on at first, but in the end, you had a blast! Though, now, I’m wondering if we also should have gone to Sesame Street when they were in town, because ELMO is your FAVORITE character. You don’t care about Big Bird, or Telly Monster…no. Elmo, Elmo, ELMO!!!!!!! You do know what color Big Bird is…”yellow”, though it sounds more like “yey-woah”.
In addition to new words, you can now string two or three words together!! “Where’s the BALL?!?!?” (of course!), and “shoes on” (when you want to go outside). So freaking SMART!
When Gigi came to visit, she taught you to peel one of those little Cutie oranges. You love those things, even though the concept of an orange alludes you. Apple is (obviously) ANY round-ish fruit. At least you’re not calling everything a ball anymore…lol
You are also playing a new game that I assume you learned at daycare. If I say “Ready, Set, GO!!!” you take off running. You also do this when we’re riding in the car. Out of nowhere I’ll hear you say “ery, et, GO!!!” and start kicking your legs frantically. It’s HILARIOUS!
You are such an amazing kid, and I love you so much!
Hugs and kisses,
(Finally had his 18 month check-up!!)
